Visiting the main campus

On-line and printable maps of the campus maps are available.  Chemistry faculty offices and laboratories are located in the Seeley G. Mudd building (SGM).  Please visit the departmental office in Olin Hall, Room 202; (303) 871-2436, cheminfo (at) du.edu.

Physical Address

Seeley G. Mudd (SGM) Building

2101 E. Wesley Ave

- Take I-25 south of downtown to University Ave.

- Exit south on University (right if coming from downtown/north or left if coming from C-470/south)

- Pass traffic lights Evans Ave. Illif Ave. and turn right at Wesley Ave. (0.8 miles from I-25)

- Seeley G. Mudd building is 0.2 miles on right (see parking options below)

 

Parking Options:

(1) Free street parking: Wesley Ave. between High and York (immediately in front of Seeley G. Mudd building).  Open spots are usually difficult to find during academic year days; please observe posted no parking zones - tickets and fines are quickly distributed.

(2) Free 1-hour parking: Race St. just off Wesley (1 block away).

(3) Free all-day parking: starting 1700-block of Wesley Ave.; west of Williams St. (3 blocks away)

(4) Pay hourly parking: Closest lots - 

    #304 (Mary Reed hourly lot; 2121 E. Iliff Ave.; 1 block).  

    #302 (Newman Center hourly structure; 1 block East on Wesley Ave.)

Public transportation

- Bus route 24 runs north/south along University Ave. and stops near our building at Wesley Ave.

- Bus route 21 runs east/west along Evans Ave. and stops nearest our building at University Ave.

- Several lines of the RTD light rail stop at the Univ. of Denver light rail station at the north end of campus (~20 min walk through campus).

To/From Airport

- Ride-share apps (Uber or Lyft) will cost ~$40 - $70 one-way

- For driving directions from Denver International Airport, see this map

- Shuttle services operate from the ground transportation area of the airport and can take you directly to DU or a hotel.

  • Super Shuttle 303-370-1300, or approach the counter at the airport

- A taxi ride from the airport will cost you approx. $50, but taxis from DU will require a phone call to arrange pick-up.

- The campus is reachable by public transportation from the airport, but several transfers are required. You can take the: (a) AF bus to the Arapahoe Park-N-Ride at Village Center Station where you can go north via light-rail, or (b) AT bus to Market Street Station and walk (~1/2 mile) to Union Station to catch a light-rail south.

James C. Kennedy Mountain Campus (KMC)

- The Kennedy Mountain Campus is located 109 miles NW of the main campus (1 hr 45 min - 2 hr by car). It occupies the old Girl Scout Camp property and is 7 miles east of the village of Red Feather Lakes, CO.
